Annotate article (underline, circle important words and phrases, write notes in the margins, highlight topic sentences)

Homework is MANDATORY and an afterschool or lunch detention is issued if the homework has not been completed.
This year we will be using a new curriculum for English Language Arts.
Our class meets for 90 minutes/5 days a week
In the first 45 minutes, we will be following a LearnZillion curriculum as mandated by Jefferson Parish.
We will be covering units which include: Steve Jobs, Hatchet, The Witch of Blackbird Pond, and Out of the Dust.
In the last 45 minutes, we will be covering basic English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
We will be doing rotations where the students log on to IREADY Reading on the computer, and work either independently or with a teacher led small group.
In addition, we will be thoroughly covering academic vocabulary and literary elements.
We will be doing ILEAP drills and test writing practice all year long.
Please call if you have any questions.
